Fishing in Tamarindo is an angler’s dream come true. Costa Rica deep-sea fishing is legendary. Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, Dorado, and Wahoo exist in abundance along the Pacific coastline. Test your skills against the acrobatic sailfish and powerful marlin on one of the most popular fishing vessels on Tamarindo beach!
Whether you prefer to go offshore for billfish or lighter tackle inshore fishing for roosterfish, snapper and wahoo, we have the perfect vessel for you. All the boat owners offer half-day and full-day fishing trips. Some offer a 3/4 day. Prices depend on the size of the boats. Take a look at the most popular vessels in Tamarindo.
Fishing Tamarindo works with a select group of private skippers with modern boats that are outfitted with state-of-the-art fishing and navigation equipment.
The fishing along the Pacific coast is good throughout the year.
The peak season for sailfish and marlin is from May to August and often continues into December when the northerly Papagayo Winds arrive. Come and enjoy the truly world-class offshore fishing offered by Costa Rica’s unspoiled deepwater habitats.
You won’t believe the action fishing for Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, and more! Experience the thrill of releasing a live, healthy billfish to fight another day!

Book your trip in time to make sure we can accommodate you. The Christmas/New Year’s week and the Easter Break/Spring Break week always book up about 6-9 months in advance. So, for those dates, it is best to make reservations as far in advance as possible, to make sure that there will be a spot available for you. Otherwise, it is good to make reservations at least 3-5 months in advance for the high season (December through April).
During the green season, there is usually some more flexibility in room availability, but it is always good to book those rooms as far in advance as possible. June, July, and August are good fishing months too so even if there is enough availability for accommodations, the fishing boats book up realy fast. If you are interested in booking one of our rental houses it is best to do that as far in advance as possible, as these houses are very popular and get booked up quickly.
